All of us here at the UTA are hoping that you and your families are doing well. This has definitely been a difficult year for our industry and the entire economy as well. Very sadly, most State Shows have had to be canceled as well as our National Expo and the NTA National Show. While many of the State Associations are still doing well, others are struggling to stay out of the red ink.
You can help your State Association by reaching out to taxidermists you may know in your area who are not members of your state association. Be an advocate for the value and the benefits of tapping into the educational opportunities, competition, and networking that is so important to the growth of the individual and the industry.
Let's also remember our vendors as they meet the demands of our orders and their desire to serve us, even with limited staffing. Some of them are struggling too while many of us still continue to work and need their help. We thank them for their dedication to keep us going and fulfilling our orders in the best time frame they can. Also, remember the discounts from these vendors that you receive for being a UTA member.
Please take advantage of these discounts as this is one of the best benefits we have as members.
At the time of this message, I know that the Idaho Show is still on for June 4-7 and the Missouri Show is still a "go" for July 31 through August 2nd. Nebraska is on for August 21-23 and there is also a fish weekend with Rick Krane as the instructor in the southeast region in August with only two spots left. Please contact Southeastern Director Brendon Botts for more information on that.
We wish you all a great summer and lots of work!
The United Taxidermist Association would like to announce the 2020 UTA Calendar – The Artisan Edition.
This full-size wall calendar (8.5”x11”) is overflowing with talent. Each month highlights one or more Artisan Award winners since the award was launched in 2010.
These vendors are offering generous discounts on taxidermy supplies to all UTA Members. You can easily recoup the cost of your membership with a single order.
Be sure to thank them for their support.
The UTA provides education and training services regarding all aspects of the art of taxidermy including a variety of technical services to taxidermists, state associations and others who share a passion and love of the art.
The Artisan Award is chosen by taxidermists - not judges. That's what makes this award so coveted. If you are given an award by other taxidermy professionals, you know you have put together something truly amazing. That's what makes the Artisan Award the "True Taxidermist's Prize".
